We came for some pastries and left highly satisfied. The speciality item is the realmuto, which is chocolate mousse and hazelnut filling. It was delicious, creamy, some nice bitter dark chocolate and tasty hazelnut. It was a delicious experience.

I had brunch here. They offer homemade pasta, and the texture was excellent—nice and chewy. For my vongole pasta, the clams were very fresh and still moist even though they had already removed the shells. However, I deducted a small point for that. The best part was the dessert. I didn’t enjoy the flan, but I had the best Tiramisu and Rum Cake!

Must go!! Beyond amazing spot to lounge or work at. Beautiful aesthetic, clean, lovely ambience with music and lighting. I went there to study and was very productive. It was not too busy on a weekday mid-day. The latte was excellent but the star of the show had to be the hazelnut chocolate sponge cake. It looked delicious behind the glass but it was much more than I was expecting. The flavors blended synergistically, it was ideally balanced, not too sweet. Please try the sponge cake if you come here, it will change everything for you.....

The location is excellent! I really like this kind of delicate little shop inside the station. Having a cup of coffee here feels so ceremonial. I tried a refined dessert with my favorite pistachios—it had great layers of flavor and was truly unique.

Beautiful Italian bakery in the West Village. Realmuto staff are very welcoming and helpful. I really enjoyed the variety of desserts that they offered. Really enjoyed the passionfruit mousse, dark chocolate raspberry jam, and coconut biscotti mini. I definitely recommend going here if you're in the mood for something sweet. I'll have to try their cheesecake next time.

If you're skimming the reviews and confused about the mixed ratings, I'll offer my hypothesis that people's experiences seem to depend on which items they ordered. I came here for entremet pastries, and I left satisfied. We got the Sole del West Village (vanilla sponge cake, almong crumbs, mango, lime and passionfruit mousse and gelee, vanilla and almond mousse) and the Mini Rose (chocolate sponge cake, pistacchio crumbs, rhum mousse, raspberry gelee, passion fruit, mango mousse). At 12 each (cheap by Manhattan standards, esp. West Village), I was surprised by how soft, fluffy, flavorful, and complex they both were--not to mention, not too sweet! Entremets aren't common in Italian bakeries, in my experience, and with Realmuto's plentiful other offerings, it might be easy to overlook them in favor of the more standard gelato, bread pastries, etc. But I wouldn't sleep on these entremets--they're almost on par with some of the most well-known French/Asian patisseries in the city, and several dollars cheaper to boot. Bonus: Plentiful seating, gorgeous decor and friendly staff. Will be back.
